This recent boathouse transformation along the Canadian shoreline stands out as one of our favourites. Combining performance, durability, and design, it’s a perfect example of what can be achieved when every detail is done right.
The original structure featured an aging flat roof that had clearly seen better days. Years of exposure to the elements had taken a toll, and it was no longer providing the protection or visual appeal the homeowner wanted. Our team got to work by removing the existing system and installing a brand new two-ply Polyglass flat roofing system. Known for its strength and weather resistance, Polyglass was the ideal choice for this waterfront location—offering peace of mind against everything from heavy rain to intense UV exposure.
But this wasn’t just a roofing upgrade—it was a full redesign of the space. Once the new flat roof was in place, we built a beautiful rooftop deck that now serves as an extension of the living space. The views are incredible, and with the right build quality underneath, it’s a space that can be enjoyed season after season.
To tie it all together, we installed 16” mechanical lock panels in a rich graphite crinkle finish. These standing seam panels not only add a modern architectural edge, but also provide exceptional performance in high-moisture and high-wind environments. Their sleek texture and tone complement the natural setting while giving the structure a clean, contemporary look.
We’re now just waiting on the installation of frameless glass railings—the finishing touch that will bring it all together. These railings will offer safety and wind protection without interrupting the panoramic lake view. Once complete, the boathouse will be more than just a utility space—it’ll be a showpiece.
